Easy to see the backed slip from under you. This will test the balance of the car right the way round. Turn 16 - All about getting the throttle on. Turn 15 - Just about keeping the speed going and getting it all ready for 16.
Turn 14 - A mid speed corner, requiring braking or just a lift, a good setup can see you keeping the power on but this is all on balance. Turn 13 - Hard braking into a deceiving right that can easily see you off into the gravel with any lurking understeer. Its all about staving off the understeer at this point. This fast left then right will test your speed and setup correctly can give you some real lap time. Turn 11 & 12 - The only point where high speed grip required as opposed to turn in. As little steering input as possible at this point and plenty of KERS if you've got it. You need to take the inside kerb and immediately straighten up and head onto the straight heading for the wall on the outside. Turn 9 & 10 - Another corner all about brakes and front end grip on turn in. Turn 6 & 7 - Good turn in needed for this corner and you need to be on the throttle as soon as you can and straightened ready for the curve of turn 8, not really a turn this is all about being flat.
Turn 5 - You must have a setup for full throttle round this corner or you will be losing massive time. Turn 3 & 4 - Braking point can make up massive time in this corner, making the apex at the right speed is important but must be sacrificed for making turn 4 on the power and ready to move to the left of the track preparing for 5. Turn 1 & 2 - Crucial to hit that first apex to get back on the power, a stable rear end will also help as the earlier you can return to full throttle the better. The key to this circuit is the balance at the key moments on the circuit. The track itself calls for good mechanical grip at low speed, i find it always a difficult thing not to end up with understeer. Always a difficult track to get a setup with the lower cars due to a lack of grip overall. So our first experience of the F1 game is starting off with Melbourne circuit in career mode.
